esde Extruders VR fort he processing of very high proportions of regrind

Increasingly high regrind ratios make economic and ecological sense. However, they pose some challenges for demanding products. At esde, we have developed a new extruder design that is resilient to external fluctuations.
In addition, the production processes were adjusted in detail to improve product quality in order to compensate for fluctuations within the feed materials.
The direct processing of regrind on extruders has one essential task: the continuous preparation of a homogeneous, high-quality melt.
For this purpose, the process unit, consisting of the extruder screw and extruder barrel, was optimized. The melting zone of the extruder screw was divided into two distinct sections, and the effectiveness of the venting zone was optimized.
The conveying behavior of the regrind has been significantly improved. The geometry of the feed opening in the extruder barrel has been adapted to the extruder screw to prevent potential bridging in the feed material.
The new esde extruder for regrind is exceptionally energy-efficient thanks to modern drive technology and a screw geometry tailored to the raw material.
This design is also available for all esde extruders with melt venting (V-series).
