esde Laboratory Dies make sense

Our small Laboratory Dies fit perfectly in the esde Laboratory Lines for flat film and sheets. Because in order to produce simply and cost-effective film samples and small batches, it needs Laboratory Dies which reach their optimum running temperature quickly and have a broad range of processing tasks of polymers and dimensions.

 

We offer to our customers exact manifolds of the Laboratory Dies tailored to the respective dimensions, the characteristics of the processed polymers and the low throughput. The optimal melt distribution is simulated in great detail to design the manifold flow channel. 

 

esde Laboratory Dies have small, high-quality die bodies, which enables to heat them up very fast and make them ready to use in just 1 - 2 hours.

 

Basic Configuration 

  • slit widths from 100 mm, die width freely selectable
  • Finish on all flow surfaces: Ra 0.05 – 0.08 µm
  • Surface finish on lip lands: Ra 0.02 – 0.04 µm
  • Die body completely manufactured from tool steel, improved to 1100 N/mm2
  • for melt temperatures of 180 - 420 °C


Configuration of esde Laboratory Dies

  • Different coatings: Chromium, Chromium Nitrite, Nickel, Non-stick, etc.
  • Lip adjustment: Pressure, push-pull, automatic
  • Restrictor bar: for more flexibility in raw materials and thickness range
  • Upper lip: flexible, integrated in the die body
  • Lower lip: fixed, removable or slidable, parallel adjustment even in operation mode
  • Lateral deckling: externally fixed, externally adjustable, internally adjustable

Feedblocks

Feedblocks are used for Coextrusion.  They enable complex applications of up to 7 layers. 

 

The esde Feedblocks are equipped with fine adjusters to vary each layer in operation mode.  All flow channels are individually supplied and purged with fresh melt.  Exchangeable selector plugs allow different layer structures.
